Defending The Republic

During the final days of this most important election cycle, I am going to breifly highlight a few obvious points pertaining to our two party system mascarading as one organization.

Corruption

• Ted Stevens [Republican].
  
• Kwame Kilpatrick {Democrat].
  
• Many of McCain and Obama's campaign advisors consists of lobbyists.
  

Economics

• Bailout supported by Obama and McCain.
  
• If McCain is accussing Obama of socialism, then McCain is also a socialist.
  
• Both candidates support the current private banker/monetary politician supply cycle.
  

Foreign Policy

• Both candidates boast blueprints to negatively impact global economics through empire building tactics.
  
• McCain's foreign policy would heavily consist of pre-emptive "democracy building" projects.
  
• Obama's foreign policy would heavily consist of UN mandated "guns-n-butter" missions.
  

Freedom

• McCain and Obama supports the Real Id Act, FISA, and other privacy/civil liberty type programs.
  
• McCain and Obama support "Robin Hood" type entitlement programs, taking property from private citizens to give to a small amount of its citizenry.
  
• McCain and Obama is part of the ogliarchy like two party system, for the most part, excluding independents and third party candidates.
  


Before defending the republic in the highly partisan voting booth, think very carefully why you choose to blacken in the oval , electronically touch the screen, or god forbid, prudently punch at any hanging chad.

Low Profile Endorsement

As political retoric has assaulted even the most apathetic individual's eardrums, I have been banging my brains, debating who is to become my very low-profile endorsement.

Ever since the many sunsets that have come and gone since Ron Paul chose to drop out of the recent presidential sweepstakes, I was keenly aware that I would have to explore alternate avenues.

Cut to the chase... I will officially make my proclimation through deduction. Throw out Obama! This fellow follows a recent history following the bluprint of the entitlement laden Democratic Party. Toss utilitarian McCain! This gentleman is out to expand the current U.S. empire. Nader is neither! His economics wiill create an unprecedented monetary free fall. I will conveniently toss out my [Alan] Keyes! His small government stance is trumped by his mandated Christian morality. "None of the above," will not be casted in '08 since two candidates distinguish themselves from the field.

Enter Chuck Baldwin. Champion of small government, pro-national soveignty, and vehimently against the Real ID Act. Mr Baldwin sounds like the perfect candidate dedicated to the many ideas of liberty.

Enter Bob Barr... a former Republican turned Libertarian. Despite performing official duties of the "Party of Principle," Mr. Barr ultimately is asked the question, "Can you be trusted?" Compared to Baldwin, Barr initially appears to display a light version of being a free market constitutionalist.

Upon further examination, Mr. Baldwin drops drastically in the principle department. This Pensacola, Florida evangelical pastor is a card carrying member of the Constitution Party, a small political party that mentions god so much in its platform that one would wonder how much liberty would truthfully be mandated. Aditionally, Baldwin is nil and void on the issue of the war on drugs... Nothing said.

So... while I respect many of Chuck Baldwin's freedom related views, I break with this guy in small, yet relevent parts. Without outright trashing Baldwin, I simply say that I endorse Bob Barr for President of the United States.

Liberty vs. Liberty Lite

While my support for Ron Paul’s campaign remains enthusiastic, I am keeping my eyes peeled on the Libertarian Party’s contradistinctive race between freedom fighter Bob Barr and Libertarian-Lite candidate Mike Gravel.

Barr and Gravel similarities are characterized by the fact that both of these maverick candidates have crossed party lines. Barr, who became a GOP exile in December 2006 because he realized that the GOP has been become a huge large government machine. Gravel very recently joined the ranks of the so called Party of principle.

Gazing at the issues, it is almost immediate that Barr seems to resemble a more formidable candidate as he currently favors keeping government out of people’s lives, which includes the idea of abolishing the Internal Revenue Service. Also, Barr believes [as does Paul] that bringing troops back from Iraq will not only greatly enhance our international reputation, but also greatly enhance our economy and the national infrastructure.

Many citizens in the Libertarian Party/libertarian circles are skeptical of Barr because of his previous views within the Republican Party. This Congressman from Ga’s previous views included favoring the war on drugs and voting yea on the Patriot Act [which he now strongly regrets].

Another Libertarian Party candidate, Mike Gravel almost leftist positions compared to Barr’s more honorably Libertarian principled positions to the point that one might believe that this recent Democratic Party candidate is a plain opportunist. Look on Gravel’s website as he believes in governmental health care intervention, finance assistance to presidential candidates, and his role of using the disastrous United Nations to end the war in Iraq.

No wonder a larger amount of bodies are not abandoning the Libertarian Party. A handful, yet appalling amount of not so straightforward politicians are using this once great, but now watered down political party to create ersatz freedom candidates.
